How to buy a YouTube channel
To buy a YouTube channel, pick a channel in a niche you know, check its analytics and standing with the seller, agree a price, and pay through escrow so the money is released only after the channel is handed over to you. On SwapCreators every seller has proved ownership on YouTube and every listing is reviewed before it goes live.

1. Choose the right channel
Start with a niche you understand, because you will be the one making the next videos or managing whoever does. Then narrow down by what matters to your plans: subscribers, monthly views, where the audience is, monetization status, and channel age.
On SwapCreators you can filter channels for sale by niche, subscribers, monetization, audience country, channel age, and price, and every listing shows the same figures in the same place, so comparing channels takes minutes.
2. Check the numbers
Subscribers and views on SwapCreators are read from YouTube. For revenue and deeper analytics, ask the seller to share Studio screenshots in chat or walk you through YouTube Studio live.
- Views and watch time over at least the last 12 months, not just the best month
- Traffic sources: search, suggested, and browse traffic are healthy signs
- Audience countries and ages that match your plans for the channel
- Revenue reports for the period the listing’s monthly average covers
- Copyright strikes, Community Guidelines strikes, and warnings (shown on every listing)
3. Ask questions and make an offer
Chat with the seller on the listing page, then make an offer. The seller can accept, decline, or counter, and you can go back and forth until you agree. If the asking price already works for you, Buy now takes the channel at that price straight away.
Keep the conversation on SwapCreators: it gives both of you a clear record, and the escrow agent can step in from the chat if you need help.
4. Pay into escrow
Once the deal is agreed, you pay into escrow, not to the seller. SwapCreators holds the money while the channel is handed over and releases it to the seller only after you have the channel.
You can pay by UPI, Binance Pay, crypto, bank transfer, or your SwapCreators balance. The only fee is the escrow fee, shown before you pay.
5. Take over the channel
Our escrow agent guides the handover using Google’s own permission tools for channels connected to a Brand Account, so nobody ever shares a password. When you have the channel, confirm receipt and the seller is paid.
Straight after the handover, update the recovery email and phone, turn on two-step verification, remove former owners and managers, and connect your own payment account for monetization.
Questions
- Can you buy a YouTube channel?
- Yes. YouTube channels are bought and sold on dedicated marketplaces such as SwapCreators, where the seller proves ownership, the buyer’s payment is held in escrow, and ownership moves through Google’s own permission tools.
- Where is the best place to buy a YouTube channel?
- Use a marketplace built for YouTube channels that holds your payment in escrow and verifies the seller. SwapCreators checks ownership directly with YouTube, reviews every listing, and releases payment to the seller only after the channel is handed over.
- Do I need the seller’s password to buy a channel?
- No, and you should never ask for it. On SwapCreators the escrow agent coordinates the handover through Google’s own permission tools, so no one shares a password, recovery code, or sign-in code.
- How long does buying a YouTube channel take?
- Finding a channel and agreeing a price can take a day or a few weeks. After payment, Google’s permission tools include a waiting period of about a week before the new owner can take primary ownership; the escrow agent guides you through it.
