Trust & safety
Buy with evidence, not promises
Our approach
SwapCreators requires the same structured disclosures on every listing, and supports careful buying with ownership checks, on-platform messaging, and escrow. None of those safeguards replaces your own checks.
A badge is not a guarantee
Channel due diligence
Before making an offer, work through at least the following:
- Watch a live screen-share of YouTube Studio, not just screenshots, which are easy to edit
- Confirm the seller controls the channel, for example by asking them to add a phrase you choose to the channel description
- Review at least 12 months of analytics, not only the best recent month
- Check monetization status and revenue reports for the same period
- Open the copyright and Community Guidelines status pages
- Read recent comments for signs of bought engagement or an audience that does not match
- Ask what is not included: other social accounts, websites, email lists, or sponsor relationships
Evaluating audience quality and traffic consistency
- Traffic sources. A healthy mix of search, suggested videos, and browse features is usually more durable than a channel relying on one viral video or on external traffic that might stop.
- Consistency. Compare month-by-month views. Sharp spikes followed by drops, or a sudden jump just before listing, deserve an explanation.
- Geography and age. Check that the audience countries and ages match the listing. They affect ad rates and sponsor interest.
- Engagement. Compare likes, comments, and returning viewers to the view counts. Very high subscriber counts with very low views can indicate inactive or purchased subscribers.
Reviewing monetization evidence
Ask the seller to show the monetization section of YouTube Studio live. “Eligible” and “monetized” are different. A channel that meets thresholds can still be rejected or removed from the YouTube Partner Program, which YouTube decides, not the seller or SwapCreators.
Payment accounts such as AdSense do not transfer. After a sale, the buyer connects their own, and monetization may need to be reviewed again under Google’s rules at that time.
Evaluating revenue claims
- Match the listed monthly average against revenue reports for the same months
- Separate ad revenue from sponsorships, affiliate income, memberships, and merchandise. Non-ad income often depends on the seller personally and may not continue
- Ask whether any sponsorship contracts transfer, and get that in writing
- Be wary of revenue that only appears in recent months, or that is shown only in screenshots or spreadsheets
Checking copyright and Community Guidelines issues
Active strikes limit what a channel can do and can lead to termination. Ask to see the status pages live, ask when any strike expires, and check for claimed or reused content, such as music, clips, or compilations, that could attract future claims. Ask whether music and footage are licensed, and whether those licenses transfer.
Account-transfer risks
- The seller keeping a hidden owner or manager role and regaining control later
- Recovery emails or phone numbers that still belong to the seller
- Transfers done by sharing passwords, which also risks breaking Google’s terms and locking the account
- Waiting periods or eligibility rules in Google’s ownership tools that delay full control
Use only Google’s and YouTube’s official tools, and update recovery details and two-step verification as soon as you are the owner. See transferring ownership.
Fraud prevention and suspicious listings
Treat any of these as a reason to stop and check:
- A price far below comparable channels
- Refusing a live screen-share of analytics
- Pressure to pay quickly, or outside an agreed process
- Requests for passwords, recovery codes, or two-step verification codes
- Payment instructions sent by chat or email claiming to be from SwapCreators
- Subscriber or view spikes with no explanation
- A seller unable to change the channel’s description or banner on request
Reporting and dispute handling
Privacy and account security
- SwapCreators will never ask for your Google password, recovery codes, or two-step verification codes
- Turn on two-step verification for every Google account involved in a sale
- Share only the evidence a buyer needs. Avoid sending ID documents or banking details through chat
- Read the Privacy Policy for how your data is handled
Platform limitations and independent verification
SwapCreators is not affiliated with YouTube or Google, has no special access to channel data, and cannot see a channel’s analytics beyond what the seller shows. It cannot guarantee earnings, monetization, audience quality, or future standing. Consider independent professional advice for large purchases, and read the Risk Disclosure.
