Privacy Policy
1. Information you provide
- Account details: your name, email address, handle (@username), and a password, which we store only in hashed form. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email address from Google; we don’t receive your Google password and don’t store your Google profile photo.
- Profile: your display name, and if you add them, a profile photo, bio, and location.
- Listings: details of a channel you sell, including figures you report and any screenshots you upload as evidence. Screenshots are private (see section 4).
- Messages, offers, and reviews you send or leave on SwapCreators.
- Two-step sign-in: if you turn it on, an encrypted key for your authenticator app and your backup codes (stored encrypted).
- Payout details: before we pay you (a withdrawal, a sale, or a refund paid out) we ask for your legal name, phone number, and address, and the account to pay (for example a UPI ID, bank details, PayPal email, or wallet address). A copy is kept with each payout for our tax and accounting records.
- Balance requests: amounts and payment methods when you ask to add balance or withdraw, and the payment references we record.
- Contact and reports: your name, email, topic, and message when you use the contact form, and the details of any report you make.
- Alerts: we email you about messages, offers, deals, listings, and your balance (you choose which in Settings, and every alert has an unsubscribe link); we keep a short log of alert emails sent so we don’t send too many. If you connect Telegram, your Telegram chat ID and username; if you turn on browser notifications, the subscription your browser gives us (including its user agent).
- Payments you send us: when you pay into escrow or add balance by UPI, Binance Pay, crypto, or bank transfer, the method, the payment reference you give (such as a UPI reference number, Binance Pay order ID, transaction hash, or bank reference), and the payer’s full name, phone number, address, and country, so we can match the payment to you and keep records of who paid. We also keep a copy of the receiving details you were shown. Only SwapCreators staff see these; the seller never does.
2. Information collected automatically
- Technical logs. Our hosting provider records technical data such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested, for security and reliability.
- Sign-in session. A cookie keeps you signed in. It is required for your account to work.
- Network address and device identifier. While you’re signed in, we record the IP addresses you use and a random device identifier stored in a cookie (“sc_device”). We use them only to enforce suspensions and bans: if an account is banned, sign-ups and sign-ins from the addresses and devices it used recently are blocked.
- Online status. While you have a SwapCreators page open we record that you’re active, so other members can see “Online” or when you were last seen.
- Read receipts. When you open a conversation, we record when you first saw each message, and the sender can see it. When SwapCreators staff read a conversation, no read receipt is created.
- Theme preference. If you choose a light or dark theme, the choice is saved in your own browser’s local storage under “swapcreators-theme”. It is not sent to us.
3. How we use information
- To run the marketplace: publishing listings, delivering messages and alerts, and processing transactions
- To pay you, and to keep records of whom we paid, how much, and when, for tax and accounting
- To keep the platform safe: preventing fraud, enforcing our terms, and investigating reports
- To screen messages, offers, profiles, and listings automatically for contact details, payment requests, and links that would take a deal off SwapCreators. Removed text is kept so our staff can review it, and contact details are compared across accounts using a one-way hash rather than the details themselves
- To let our escrow agents and support staff read a conversation when they’re resolving a problem or keeping the marketplace safe, as each chat notes
- To respond to your questions and requests
- To meet legal obligations, such as record-keeping and responding to lawful requests
5. What we never ask for
SwapCreators never asks for Google passwords, recovery codes, or two-step verification codes. If someone asks for them on our behalf, report it through the Contact page.
6. Your rights and choices
You can view and change your profile, photo, and alert settings in Settings, and your payout details from your Balance page. You can disconnect Telegram or turn off browser notifications at any time.
You can delete your account in Settings once no escrow, balance, or payout is in progress. You’re signed out everywhere and can’t sign in again, and your profile, listings, and reviews are removed from the site. We keep the account record and the records listed in section 7 for as long as described there, because we need them for disputes, fraud prevention, and tax and accounting.
Depending on where you live, laws such as the UK GDPR, the CCPA/CPRA, PIPEDA, and the Australian Privacy Act may give you rights to access, correct, delete, or port your information, and to object to certain processing. To make a request, use the Contact page.
7. Retention and security
Chat messages are deleted after 35 days, for everyone, including our staff. A chat is kept longer only while it may be needed as evidence: while its escrow is still open or disputed, while an escrow agent request is open, or until our staff have reviewed a message our screening flagged. Reports, and records of messages blocked for pointing to other marketplaces, are kept separately for safety reviews.
We keep other information only as long as needed for the purposes above and for legal obligations. Records of payouts and of payments you send us, including the payer or payout details given at the time, are kept for tax, accounting, and fraud prevention even if you later change your details. We apply security measures appropriate to the information we hold. No system is perfectly secure, and we do not claim otherwise.
8. Changes and contact
We may update this policy as the service develops. Material changes will be announced on the site. Privacy questions can be sent through the Contact page.
